Girl Scout badges and patches —believe it or not, there is a difference between the two. Badges are awards girls earn by completing skill-building activities. Patches are to be worn on the back of vests or sashes, while badges are worn on the front. Girls can earn these colorful embroidered symbols during a troop meeting.
As mentioned before, girls can also earn them on their own. For example, many sports teams have special scout nights for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. During these special events, a patch is given to each scout who comes in uniform. Our council store has created a vest specially made for our leaders.

Answer: Typically, skill-builder and Journey badges earned as a Junior stay on the Junior vest, and badges earned as a Cadette go on the Cadette vest. You can generally tell the program level by the shape of the badges: Junior skill-builder badges are round and Cadette skill-builder badges are diamond-shaped. Journey badges, though, may have size and shape variations, but you can see what they look like in the Journey books. Certain awards like bridging arches and Brownie wings, however, do move to the next level vest.

Answer: Early Bird is a patch given for early registration. Since this is earned, it goes on the front of the vest or sash. The Cooie Activity pin also is an earned award and goes on the front of the vest or sash. Answer: The rededication or Investiture patch goes anywhere on the back of the sash or vest.
Most Scouts will place patches starting at the top edge of the sash or vest and work downward. Answer: I am only aware of fun patches to mark rededication, so unless your council has an earned badge for rededication, I would say that it goes anywhere on the back of the Daisy tunic.

Question: Does it matter if Daisy Journey badges are placed on the bottom left or right? When they run out of room on the bottom left, they will fill up the bottom right. Answer: I am going to assume that this is the Brownie level Making Friends try-it badge, which is triangular in shape with a brown edge and has a cat and mouse design in the center.
If so, then this is an earned badge, so it goes on the front of the vest, on the girl's right side. Badges are generally started on the hemline, lined up in a row. Move up, row by row, as you add additional badges. If you run out of room on the right side, you can place some on the left side, again starting at the hemline and moving up.
For sashes, place the badge on the front, starting at the bottom and working up, row by row. If your Making Friends patch does not match the description of the Brownie badge, then perhaps it is a fun patch? Most Making Friends fun patches have the words "Making Friends" on it. If that is the case, then as a fun patch, it would be placed anywhere on the back of the vest or sash.

It is arc-shaped like a bridge and there are specific requirements to earn it. Juniors may also wear their Brownie Wings on the front of their vest. But, could this be a Council badge, specific to your local Council? If it is similar in appearance - size and shape - to other earned Brownie badges, then it would go on the front.
If it is a skill builder badge, it would go on the right side of the vest. If the badge does not look similar in size and shape to other earned Brownie badges, then it is likely considered to be a fun patch, and so would go on the back of the vest or sash.
Since it is a fun patch, it goes anywhere on the back of the sash or vest. Answer: The sash typically is worn over the right shoulder down to the left hip, but I have had girls who preferred to wear theirs the other way for various reasons. Answer: The cookie pin is fuchsia in color, about an inch or so in size, in a rhombus shape.
If the girl does not have membership stars, you can place the pin below the troop numerals. Mark the fabric with chalk if you need to make a few guidelines. Use a simple straight stitch to attach each badge. The line where the badge fabric meets the border is typically the easiest place to sew.
Girl Scout Brownie Badges — These are triangular and placed along the bottom of the sash or vest on the right hand side. It is acceptable for these badges to be placed upside down in order to fit the pieces together like a puzzle. All fun patches go on the back of the vest or sash. If it is a skill-builder badge, it will go on the front of the vest , on the girl's right side, with placement starting at the hemline and working up.
Daisy Learning Petals girls are given petals when they demonstrate understanding through their words and deeds their true meaning. One of the easiest ways to attach badges is to simply glue them. Some people like to use hot glue guns, but fabric glue gives you better and more permanent results. If you 're not planning on washing or handling the vest, sash or tunic much, this works well.
We meet once per month and have extra activities sometimes a group thing with other GS troops about times per year. Daisy is the initial level of Girl Scouting. Daisies earn the Promise Center and Petals, which focus on the Girl Scout Law and are placed on the front of the tunic in a daisy design.

To sew a patch on a uniform by hand, position the patch and hold it in place with pins or fabric tape. Take a threaded needle and poke the needle from the inside of your garment out. It's actually kind of fun to cut out the badges on this.
