Have a look at your motor brushes. They take a long time to wear out normally. Could be that you need to change your foot control. Normally if you turn your hand wheel and your machine starts again: Brushes or damaged motor. If you have a basic Multi Meter you can test to see if you get a reading from your foot control and pressed down.
You test by the two points on the foot control lead. Make sure your machine is disconnected from the power source! Greetings: I have a Viking model that has become stuck in the reverse mode. The button is stuck in the in position and won't return to the normal position.
What can I do to fix this? Thanks, Ms. I have a viking I have had it since it was brand new. I love it. But recently when I push the foot control you have to push it almost to the floor before the machine will start.
Then when it does it is going very fast. Is it the motor or the foot control. Hi, I have a and it shows great, except the reverse button is stuck. I can go forward, but can't backtack. The button is just frozen. What can I do to un-stick it?
Many thanks Kim in VA. Go to this youtube link. It needs some oiling and a hairdryer. I've just found an old Husqvarna 21e I have a 21a before and I love that machine! There is a problem however. The reverse and stitching length adjustments doesn't work.
When I press the reverse button, the button moves in but never comes back out again. It feels and looks as it is loose. There is no tension at all. You have to pull it back out again. When I turn the stitching length dial it turns but nothing changes. I tried to make a little video that shows what's happening on the back end. Thanks in advance!
That should help to release it. I think that I know now. It is the same issue as you described on your youtube-video. And also the spring that is supposed to push back the button is broken. I'm not sure if I will be able to pull this of yet. Hi There I had a look the picture, you can reuse the spring. Just bent it like the original. You might have one winding less. I don't think it will make a difference. That unit should move freely. It controls the stitch length.
I can see the broken spring compared to the video. You most unlikely to find a original part. I'll shorten the spring by one loop and re-bend it at the same point as the original. You can normally bend it once, more it might brake.
The booklet that came with the machine says it's a model but the plate on the bottom of the machine says model The handwheel is VERY difficult to turn. When plugged in, the light goes on and I can hear the motor humming as it attempts to turn but that's all. After looking over your videos, I had the courage to open up the side panel and have a look.
The drive belt that goes from the top pulley down to the pulley by the bobbin winder mechanism seems kind of loose.
Is there an adjustment for tightening this belt? Is is difficult to change the belt? This machine also has problems with the buttonhole selector button and the reverse feed button but after following your videos, they have loosened up slightly.
I'll keep working on them. Will 3-in-one oil work as a lubricant? Hi There Never use 3-in-one oil. It will work fine till it dry. Then your machine will even get stuck more. If you have used 3-in-one oil, try to clean out as much as possible and use a penetrating oil.
Any hardware shop will be advice you to a good product. I've had success using Methylated Spirits, It can help to dissolve old oil. It can take a long time to get fresh oil worked in. I've spend hours on machines before to get them going. I have a Viking that I purchased at a resale store. It worked fine when I tested it but I let it sit for a few months and now the stitch selector is stuck. Any suggestions? Have a look at this blog and you can find You tube videos that might help.
It was working fine, then all of a sudden the machine has somehow gotten stuck. When I press the pedal the machine makes a sound and seems as if it's trying to move, but nothing happens.
Almost like something is blocked internally or something. Thanks, Joseph. Hi There Have a look at this video, it will point out problem points. Check if your Bobbin winder is still working, then at least you know it is not your motor.
Give it a good clean and oil. I have a husqvarna The button hole cam is frozen and because of that my needle is out of alignment. I have viewed your videos but can not get to the cam from the side view to move it manually as suggested.
I have heated the area and have been able to move the knob when the button cam is not engaged but the needle is still not moving. Am I missing something? Hi There This part of the videos should explain it else you can send me pics and I'll try and help. I added a extra video to this page. In the video you can see the buttonhole cam. On my machine it is behind the metal plate. I can see it from the back of the machine but don't have the leverage to turn it.
In your video you say that you will explain something later in the video. What were you trying to show? Should I be tring to move the arm from the threaded side? I have a husqvarna viking embroidery sewing machine. The hook timing is out and I don't have a service manual. How do you adjust the hook timing on this machine? I have a Viking husqvarna 1plus. It is still under warranty, but the thing that holds the needle is apparently going out, and the dealer says he can't get the part.
Is anyone aware of a parts supplier that I can contact, and for that matter what the name of the part is. I have a viking machine that I have owned for almost 40 years.
I bought it brand new when I was 16 and it's the only machine I've ever owned. It has been a great machine but in the last several years it has had what I can only call "timing issues". If I sew over anything with bulk - or sometimes for no reason at all, it seems to catch inside the machine. The only thing I can do it to take it apart behind the bobbin sometimes wasting a half hour or so , and manually turn the black plastic casing on a gear until, through trial and error, the threads will interlock again.
Then I have to put the whole business back together again. This is becoming very old, as my time for sewing is very limited. I took it in for repair and I swear all they did was the same thing I do over and over again as I sew. Is there a replacement part associated with this problem that I could lead a repair person to that would actually solve my problem for good?
Please help! I bought a SL but it's stuck in reverse. The reverse button has no tension in it it pops in and out almost as if it's not connected to anything but a little piece of metal pushes through a slot holding it in place, and it only slides half way down the slot never settling in to the right end. Please ; Sarah. I am confused with all the model numbers referred here, my number isn't even close!
I have a sewing machine model: lily , no other numbers. On the bottom of the machine, type: listed sewing machine: c. I have no other documentation. I would like to be able to service this machine myself, as I can't afford a pro. Is this the correct manual for my machine? Thanks, Amy. Take back off and oil. You will be able to see reverse button with back off with flash light.
Hi- I have a Viking and it's stuck in reverse. There is no tension at all as far as pushing the button in or out. Hi, I shifted cam gear on my Model huge thanks for the video! The cam lobes lift and releases about 45 degrees too late. Cam lobes are however exactly in line with the lobes on the pattern cam wheels, so the cam gear as such should be OK. Any ideas on how to adjust? Hi I have a Bernina and the feed dog does not transport the fabric forward.
